On this episode, I test Grok 4’s capabilities across multiple use cases to determine if it outperforms competitors like OpenAI and Perplexity. I evaluate 9 different agent types by running specific prompts and analyzing the results. Grok 4 demonstrates particular strength in tasks leveraging X data, with standout performance in market research, customer feedback analysis, and negotiation assistance, while showing limitations in areas like visual design.

Key Points:
• I test Grok 4 across 9 different use cases including market research, coding, productivity optimization, and design
• Grok 4’s integration with X (Twitter) data provides unique advantages for certain tasks
• Performance varied across different agent types, with market research and customer feedback analysis being particularly strong
1) The X-Factor (Literally)
The BIGGEST advantage Grok 4 has? Access to X data!
When you specifically ask it to "search X for trends" or "pull real-time X mentions," it delivers insights no other AI can match.
Pro tip: ALWAYS include "search X and web" in your prompts to unlock Grok’s full potential.
2) Market Research Agent: 9.5/10
This blew me away. I asked Grok to analyze competitors in the productivity app space using real-time web and X search.
In just 80 seconds, it delivered:
• Detailed competitor analysis
• Actual user pain points from X
• Untapped market opportunities
The prompt:
"Act as a market research agent, analyze competitors in [your industry] using real-time web and X search…"
3) Customer Feedback Analysis: 10/10
GAME-CHANGER for product teams!
I pasted in raw customer feedback and Grok:
• Categorized all feedback themes
• Calculated an NPS score
• Created a prioritized product roadmap
• Forecasted retention impact
All in under 2 minutes! This alone is worth trying Grok 4.
4) Fundraising Pitch Helper: 9/10
I gave Grok a real startup pitch and asked it to refine it as a "VC agent."
It immediately:
• Identified weaknesses (too high-level, lacking proof)
• Added data-backed improvements
• Predicted investor objections WITH counterarguments
• Rewrote the entire pitch
This was possibly the best pitch refinement I’ve seen from ANY AI.
5) Coding Agent: 7/10
Asked Grok to generate a Python lead-gen bot with API integration.
It produced clean code in ~25 seconds with deployment instructions, but I didn’t test if it actually works.
Jury’s still out on whether it beats specialized coding tools like Cursor or Replit
6) Content Marketing: 6/10 → 9/10
Initial results were BAD – generic content with too many hashtags.
BUT when I refined my prompt to "I like the style of tweets from @gregisenberg, make it more like that," it NAILED my writing style and created genuinely good content ideas.
Lesson: Be specific about the style you want!
7) Productivity Workflow Optimization: 8/10
I shared my daily schedule and asked for optimization.
Grok analyzed it, suggested improvements based on X productivity trends, and even generated Python code for email summarization that could save 30-60 minutes daily.
Super practical and actionable.
8) Negotiation Agent: 8.5/10
Asked Grok to help with salary negotiation using "multi-agent mode."
It:
• Role-played both sides of the conversation
• Suggested timing the ask after a major win (smart!)
• Created scripts with objection handling
• Offered data-backed tactics
9) Design/Branding: 6.5/10
Asked for logo options for my startup.
The good: Fast (under 30 seconds), spelled everything correctly, clean designs.
The bad: Only gave 2 options when I asked for 4, and text broke when I asked for edits.
Usable for ideation, but not final designs.
10) BONUS: Voice & Companions
Voice mode sounds surprisingly human – great for brainstorming on walks.
Companions mode was… weird? My AI companion called me "babe" which felt inappropriate. Definitely needs refinement.
